SQ.COM TEAM SUMMARY

Psychic Impressions:  Our professional psychic’s (Rossana) impressions in the food storage area: on the whole all seemed quiet and uneventful.  She noticed a kind of “flat” energy.  Also, she questions the quality of the air within the building.  The many gasoline-containing vehicles stored in the area, lack of windows, low light, and poor ventilation can bring about not so much paranormal, but unusual physical responses from being in such an environment for any length of time.

Investigators’ Impressions:

Robert: My first impression upon entering the building was a feeling of being told, ‘Go home, there’s nothing here for you to do.’

In addition, after careful review of the audio that I recorded,

I did not find any unusual sounds or voices that could not be explained.  Due to the fact that the coolers’ and freezers’ motors and fans were very loud, I believe any attempt at communication by a spirit or spirits would have been covered up by the noise.

I would suggest re-investigating with all the power shut down for a short period of time, although I know that this would be virtually impossible because of the food that needs to stay cold or frozen.

Mike: All EMF readings were within normal range.

Examination of the photos:  I found nothing out of the ordinary.

No signs of orbs or any other traces of paranormal activity.

My personal impression was that there was something in the room that had the meat packaging machine in it. I had the feeling that it was avoiding us.

Steve: Nothing out of the norm.  However, after spending some alone time in the darkened freezer, I could see how the shadows cast by all of the opened boxes could fool you into believing there was something or someone there.

Jeffrey’s impressions during the Investigation:

a)     My first overall impression of the space upon entering was that of heaviness, not from an entity, but possibly from a human or humans that currently work or frequent the business.

b)    During the walking tour, having arrived at the warehouse entrance, I felt that something was ‘hiding out’ on the right side of the warehouse down by the un-used walk-in.  After the lights were turned on, the feeling went away.

c)    During the investigation, everything seemed to be calm The only exception was when Steve suggested I try standing in the darkened freezer by myself!  I agree that the noise and shadows in there could make one feel as though something else was there.  After that, everything seemed to be quiet.

d)    The packing room: the faucet was dripping where it connected with the handles.  This is where I captured the grunt heard on the EVP tape.  At the end of the investigation we were all in that room together and the faucet wasn’t dripping.  The hair raised on my arms a couple of times.  It turns out that the chills may be  justified.

e)    The hallway leading upstairs:  I seriously felt like I was being followed.  Again, strange EVPs there, and at the top of the stairs.  Nothing felt threatening.

f)     By the boat’s bow, port side:  here I had an uneasy feeling after Mike left me alone there.  Again, this feeling may be justified by the EVP captured.  It was more of a ‘hmmm, I’m in the dark, in a strange place, left alone’ feeling, not a ‘there’s something  that is going to get me’ feeling.

g)    The far side of the warehouse:   I did not really feel anything there.

h)    The unused walk-in(s): Nothing.

i)      The game room:  I felt the most peacefulness there.  Ironically, it wasn’t until I passed Mike coming into the room as I was leaving that we caught that EVP.

j)      The telemarketer’s room:  Nothing.

k)    The office in the hallway across the game room:  This is where I caught a class C evp (definition: you need headphones to hear it, and you often can’t get anyone to agree about what is being said or heard.  In addition, you really can’t prove that it wasn’t a part of the ambient noise of the building).  With this being said, I asked if the spirit liked the person that resided in that office.  I asked that because, my initial feelings were that of, well, ‘not so very nice’.  It doesn’t necessarily have to be the energy of a person.  Anyway, that’s the feeling I got in that room.

l)      The kitchen/break room:  My impression of this area was that of a neutral zone.  It was the feeling that spirit energies can go to the front of the building or to the back, but not here.  For live humans, it’s a place where everyone can come together over one common good, food.

Conclusions:

Even though we managed to capture some orbs in photos, and some EVPs with the use of a digital recorder, our overall conclusion is that this place of business is not haunted.  It seems that some spirit energies may visit, or there may be a residual energy source.  There is a difference between that and an actual ‘haunting’. However, the energies that are present do not seem malevolent in any way.

Our concerns are:

Because of the constant, loud noise of motors, generators and the like, there is a chance that folks may be affected by an infrasound effect.  Infrasound is sound that is generated at a very low frequency, below human hearing capabilities. These sounds can affect susceptible people, physically and emotionally. Additionally, the human eye resonates at 18-19 Hz.  This resonance has been shown to cause visual hallucinations.  For more on this subject, you can visit www.specterquest.com; there are also further links on that site to information on this subject.

Another condition that may affect perception is the lack of ventilation in the warehouse area.  There is a wide assortment of smells generated by plastics, vehicle fuels, food, etc.  Smells are experienced when molecules of a substance enters the body through the nose. Whether the chemicals present at the investigation site would have an effect on the brain, and therefore on perception, is open to question.  Additionally, E.M.F. (electromagnetic fields) from the generators may affect human perception.  Research in this area is ongoing.  After a period of time one gets used to smells and sounds in the environment.  They become part of the background, but they may still have an effect on a person’s perception of his or her surroundings.

THESE ARE JUST OUR OSERVATIONS, AND NOT THE OPINIONS OF EXPERTS IN THIS FIELD OF STUDY.

We know that no one made up anything they have heard, seen or smelled.  However, part of our mission is to approach any investigation from a scientific perspective, and not just as a metaphysical study.

The bottom line is, between all of the noise and smells, the environmental conditions may be the right conditions to evoke the hearing, seeing or smelling of something that appears to be a paranormal event.

Finally, due to the level of noise and the pervasive smells, we had a challenging investigation.  For the reasons given above, our own perceptions and feelings may be in question.  Also, much of what we captured on tape was unclear because of the background noise.
