PROCEDURE COVER LETTER FOR A BASIC INVESTIGATION

 

 

Dear Client,

 

The preliminary investigation/interview has been set for:   ____________________

 

Please review the enclosed preliminary interview questionnaire and answer all questions to the best of your ability.  This will aid us in conducting as unbiased a final investigation as possible.

 

The following is a general outline of the procedure in an investigation (subject to change; not all investigations are alike).

 

1.                  Client contact

 

2.                  Preliminary interview/investigation date and time established

 

3.                  Preliminary interview/investigation questionnaire mailed to client and filled out by client, then returned

 

4.                  Preliminary investigation/interview conducted

 

a)      Interview with client(s) performed by one investigator

b)      Baseline electromagnetic field readings, baseline electronic voice phenomena readings (voice recorder) and baseline photos taken, performed by another investigator simultaneously with the interview

c)      Signing of permission forms for complete investigation

d)      Contact name and phone number obtained for notification of local law enforcement (Specter Quest will take care of this; however, notification is not always necessary especially if the client is going to be on premises during the investigation)

e)      Takes about 1 hour

 

5.   Research of property history will be done at this time if deemed necessary

 

  1. Questionnaire and baseline evidence gathered at preliminary interview/ investigation reviewed, final investigation date set; preliminary findings orally reported to client

 

  1. Official investigation conducted
    1. Usual arrival time 8:00 PM
    2. Number of investigators typically ranges from 3 to 8
    3. Set up of equipment.  A base station space will be needed for computer and video monitoring units
    4. Length of investigation ranges from 3 to 6 hours (including breaking down of equipment, cleaning up etc.)

 

  1. Analysis of evidence (can take up to 3 weeks depending on amount collected)

 

  1. Date set for final report presentation

 

  1. Presentation of Final Report

 

    1. Client and investigators meet, report is presented orally and in writing along with any evidence collected (client receives a copy of report and all pertinent evidence)
    2. Final thoughts, comments and discussion of any possible follow-up
    3. Presentation of customer survey
