Basic Definitions

What is a specter?

Ghost: a mental representation of some haunting experience; "he looked like he had seen a ghost"; "it aroused specters from his past

Apparition: ghostly appearing figure; "we were unprepared for the apparition that confronted us"

Phantom: apparition: a ghostly appearing figure; "we were unprepared for the apparition that confronted us"

Spirit: any incorporeal supernatural being that can become visible (or audible) to human beings

Presence: an invisible spiritual being felt to be nearby

Image: A word, phrase, or figure of speech (especially a simile or a metaphor) that addresses the senses, suggesting mental pictures of sights, sounds, smells, tastes, feelings, or actions. Images offer sensory impressions to the reader and also convey emotions and moods through their verbal pictures

Vision: The act of perceiving visual information with the eyes, mind, and body.

What is ITC?

The term Instrumental TransCommunication (ITC) came into being to describe these expanded modes of audio- and video-format communication. Other acronyms used in the literature include Electronic Disturbance Phenomena (EDP) and Trans-Dimensional Communication (TDC). Reference: A.A.E.V.P.

What is a Poltergeist?

Poltergeist is a German word meaning “noisy/rattling spirit”. Poltergeist manifestations are one of the most common paranormal events in modern homes. Some researchers believe that poltergeists are not ghosts but phenomena caused by mental disturbances. Poltergeists often appear when a certain member of the family is present. Children, adolescents and the elderly seem to be more susceptible to such phenomena. Manifestations include: moving/levitating objects (furniture being rearranged, glasses being smashed, etc.), creaks, knocks, temperature changes, pools of water appearing, etc. Poltergeists can cause a great deal of damage within the home, but there are no recorded cases of severe physical injury occurring because of them. What is an orb?

Some folks believe that an orb is a spirits soul energy gathered to manifest itself. The orb is a natural shape, and one of the easiest shapes to create. Some say the smaller the orb, the less energy it takes to manifest the orb shape. Orbs can be different colors, sizes and can be captured with or without tails (signifying motion). The skeptics believe that orbs are nothing but dust, bugs, rain dopes etc. There is even much controversy out there over which kind of format to use when tying to capture them (digital or film).

What is White Noise?

A random noise signal that has the same sound energy level at all frequencies.

Infra sound refers to extreme bass waves or vibrations, those with a frequency below the audibility range of the human ear.
